Day 3: Orange:

We visit Orange and view the spectacular “Theatre Antique”, a colossal Roman theatre built during the reign of Caesar Augustus. Today this theatre inspires and houses world-class plays and concerts. There may be an opportunity to attend an evening concert, schedule permitting, amidst the awesome Roman structure under the gaze of the original statue of Augustus. Orange is also the site of the striking Arc de Triomphe that once straddled Via Agrippa between Lyon and Arles. We will also visit “vieil Orange -- old Orange,” the old-town neighborhood you must cross to hike from one Roman monument to the other. We may end our visit with an authentic Couscous dinner prior to retiring for the night.
